Friend Verifier

Friend Verifier gave Facebook users the ability to scan their existing friends and incoming friend requests against registered sex offender databases. The service attracted nationwide media coverage and reached nearly 14 million unique users. It operated until Facebook changed its developer access policies, effectively pulling the plug on Friend Verifier.

Next ventureSafer dating
Gatsby was the first dating app to screen every user for criminal history, automatically banning those with criminal records. It also pioneered a feature that allowed users to preemptively block an ex-partner or stalker simply by entering their mobile phone number, ensuring neither person would ever see the other's profile. Gatsby received international media coverage, including an appearance on the UK's Loose Women, the British equivalent of The View.

After nearly two decades in big data, with a focus on using information to keep people safe, Veraos represented the next evolution: bringing artificial intelligence into the equation. Built to understand natural language and user intent, Veraos made it possible to search through more than 50 terabytes of data without requiring users to understand complex queries or database structures—all while operating within strict legal and ethical guardrails.

Soon Intelligence represents a shift in focus: taking nearly two decades of experience in big data, advanced artificial intelligence, and strong ethical safeguards and putting that technology to work for everyday people. The mission is simple: how can we use technology to genuinely improve people's lives? Our first consumer product, Caravan, challenges the culture of endless doomscrolling by encouraging people to put down their phones, get out into the world, experience life, and build meaningful friendships in the real world. Technology should bring us closer together, not keep us apart.
